Executive summary
During the field visit, the environmental clean-up activities in AL–Maigoma were closely monitored. – Interviews were conducted with participants and beneficiaries to gather feedback on the cleaning company’s performance.
This report aims to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the work, assess sustainability, and provide recommendations for future improvements.
Achievements
The cleaning company carried out organized and comprehensive work, including cleaning all interior rooms and washing the walls with soap, leaving no waste behind. The local authorities supported the campaign for two days, while the cleaning company worked a full day from morning to evening, contributing significantly to the success of the campaign.

All participants expressed satisfaction with the cleaning company’s performance.

Observations
– While the work quality was excellent, sustainability remains a concern:
– Only one large bin is available, located at the end of the yard, which may make it difficult to maintain cleanliness post-campaign.
– Some areas have been damaged or defaced, giving an unattractive appearance. Students suggested repainting or repairing walls.
– Awareness programs for students are currently not required, but ongoing support for workers is necessary to maintain efficiency.
Recommendations
– Provide additional bins in strategic locations to support ongoing cleanliness.
– Supply workers with the necessary tools to maintain cleanliness after the campaign.
– Repaint or repair damaged walls to enhance the area’s appearance.
– Conduct periodic follow-ups to ensure that cleanliness is sustained and not temporary.
Conclusion
– The cleaning company performed excellently, and the Local Authority’s participation was significant.
– For sustainable results, focus should be on providing tools to support the workers, distributing additional bins appropriately, and repairing damaged areas.
